Directors

Robert Hudson

photo of Robert Hudson

A financial planner for over 15 years and a founder and Director of Manse Capital since inception in 1996. Robert could be described as down to earth and direct in his dealings with clients providing concise and honest opinion in each case.

Out of the Office

Family takes up a lot of time with 3 young children and Robert says what he needs is a Taxi sign on the top of his car.

Robert plays golf on a regular basis and is a member of the local golf club with a handicap of 8. Excellent from tee to green but sadly the short game of a beginner!

Skiing is also a regular hobby which is great to do with the whole family, Schladming in Austria being his favourite venue.

Football is also played twice a week when the legs will take it and as usual he starts up front and ends the game in defense or on a real bad day in goal.

Leeds United have been a time thief (as well as a money thief) having held a season ticket for over 20 years.

Future:

Become a long term adviser to a group of clients who are as serious as Robert is about their financial planning.

Simon Fitton

photo of Simon Fitton

Simon has been working as a financial planner for nearly 20 years now, and was a founder member of Manse Capital way back in 1996. As a shareholding director, he has helped to drive through the evolution of the firm to the well respected business it is now.

Over the years he has built valued and mutually trusted relationships with clients; his portfolio has grown due to recommendations to their colleagues, friends and family. He will help you set goals and priorities, based upon how your wealth should impact you, your family and your community. Simon’s role is to liberate you from the everyday responsibilities of wealth management to reflect your values, live your life, and pursue your passions.

Out of the Office

Simon is married to Catherine and has three children, Hannah, William and Freddie. His knees stifle his competitive sporting ambitions these days, so he has to content himself with a bit of badminton and tennis, whilst supporting his kids various activities as best he can. This can include refereeing matches, but he gets little respect from the players or parents when they discover he is a West Brom fan, and therefore can know nothing about football.

Musically, his kids are horrified that his musical taste sometimes mirrors their own, but he’s seen the Arctic Monkeys live and they haven’t.

Having studied Fine Art to degree level, he spends more time appreciating than making these days, and is more likely to be holding a camera than a paintbrush.

A Wealth Manager with over 24 years experience, Karl spends much of his time managing the relationships and affairs of his clients, who are primarily wealthy individuals, trustees, business owners and busy professionals.

In the background, he combines the use of state of the art planning software, a wealth of technical knowledge, strong analytical skills and his reputation for out of the box thinking to assist his clients deal with strong emotive issues, (such as wealth protection, succession planning, philanthropy and asset allocation), to create and implement a plan to achieve their long-term objectives in the most effective manner.

Karl is also able to apply his knowledge of property investment for the benefit of his clients where appropriate. Karl is both a Certified Financial Planner and a Chartered Financial Planner.
Working With other Disciplines.

Karl’s work involves frequent interaction with solicitors and accountants to ensure a co-ordinated approach to secure the best overall outcome for both his clients and those introduced through these professional relationships. His work also involves producing reports of the Court of Protection and advising on investment and taxation strategies for various types of trusts.

Out of the Office

Karl is a bit of an action man, (or as his long suffering wife would have it, ‘an accident man’). He enjoys hiking, gym training, cycling plus a little sailing and sub aqua when on holiday. Golf is his recently acquired interest, where he admits to there being ‘some room for improvement’ in his game. All of these are necessary to offset his other great loves of socialising and good restaurants.

He lists amongst his personal achievements; swimming with Great White sharks, doing the world’s highest commercial bungee jump (over 700 feet), plus organising and completing a two week multi-marathon in aide of MENCAP. This entailed cycling 800 miles, climbing Ben Nevis, Scar Fell and Snowdon, swimming the length of Lake Windermere, canoeing 40 miles of the Leeds-Liverpool canal and finishing with a 20 mile run into Leeds.

In both July 2009 and 2010 he successfully completed the grueling Tough Guy challenge, ‘Nettle Warrior’, (A very tough 10 mile assault course), in aid of BLESMA (the British Limbless Ex Serviceman’s Association).

What next?

Jon Slater

photo of Jon Slater

Jon has been a financial planner for over 20 years in which time he has built up a lasting and trusting relationship with his many clients, most of whom are based in his native Yorkshire Dales.

His interests are his three children and various sporting activities including Wharfedale Rugby where he both played (unsuccessfully) and now coaches as well as being secretary and player at Upper Wharfedale Cricket Club.

What time remains is spent drumming in the very average and appropriately named band Mid Life Crisis.
